Homeworld ship series

Current Active Project: Taiidan/Vagyr, Fighter class: scout

This here is the famous kushan mothership. please tell me how I did (sorry its sideways)

Hey Im starting a new series on the ships from the famous, game of the year award winning, HOMEWORLD. I will try to get in aleast two ships a week (but no promises) and will do both taiidan and kushan designs.

these aren't really good refrences because neither show the whole ship but here.

and sorry I don't have a scanner (atleast one that works I hate that thing) so a camera is the best I got

It's a little blurry, and I've never played that game. =P If you have a scanner you could use that, or you could bring the photo into some better light and focus your camera a little more to make a clearer picture...also, could you provide a reference for the ship? Just pull something off of google or...something.

Anyways, knowing what little art I've seen from you before, you're pretty good at making depth. And I think you did a pretty good job in this case. Of course, I can't really crit that picture without a reference, but from what I can see it's pretty good.

Also if anybody here has played the game HOMEWORLD, (not Apocalypse or HOMEWORLD 2, I will do those later ) Please feel free to ask for certain ships like the heavy cruiser or Assult frigate.

I have never played that game, so I don't really have too much of an opinion on it. I think it looks sweet though. Nice job.

You've got the basic idea now, I suggest starting to add all the details, like the labels and stuff.

Well I like them. I have not played the first Homeworld game but I have played Homeworld 2 (so I greatly anticipate those drawings. :) )

Personally, I just think that the design of the Taiidan Mothership is just dumb. Ugh...it is just a really ugly design with major flaws. And no, I am not talking about your drawing, which I think is lovely. The game designers were fools in creating that design in my opinion.

Well considering I don't know what they're supposed to look like. I'm just criticizing what I see. Everything is great but maybe use a ruler to get straighter lines.

EDIT: Oh you have references. Well only difference is that you have less details and the lines aren't straight. But who wants to sit there for hours drawing that in...not me.

I only use free hand. I don't use tools like a Ruler or a protractor unless I'm doing something for school. It makes me feel better about my work if it looks good

Ohh ... uh. my drawings might be a bit delayed because I am starting to work on a new game for my website. It is an RPG and I don't know how long it will take to finish. (I just started on it yesterday, and I am literally starting from scratch) So if I don't get in a few drawings a week that's why.

This reference only shows the right half of the ship but it's the only one I could find.
